CarePacks is a
non-profit organization—staffed and managed entirely by volunteers—that is
dedicated to sending care packages to US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Founded in 2004, CarePacks' goal is to provide these soldiers with supplies to
help improve their morale, mental health, and quality of life, and to remind
soldiers that they are remembered by people "back home."
According to the federal government, people are
no longer allowed to send packages to US troops overseas addressed to "Any
Solder". For security reasons, all care packages must have a specific
soldier's rank, name, and address. If you know of a soldier who would like to
receive one of our care packages, you can send their address to us by email at info@carepacks.org. You must
include the following in your email:
- Soldier's
Rank, Name, and Full Address
- Your
Name, Address, and Phone Number (in case we need to verify your soldier's
information)

OPERATION:
TAKE A SOLDIER TO THE MOVIES : was started to improve the morale among the troops stationed in
war zones around the world. Soldiers in war zones literally had "nothing to do"
when not working. This is a way of providing them with a "Saturday Night at the
Movie" experience. Each movie package to the troops contains:
|

|
· Letter of support from
the donor with their mailing address
· New
or used DVD
·
Artificially sweetened powdered drink mix packets (no tubs)
